Let’s say it out loud: VLC is the best media player. Its versatility is unmatched. It can play almost every video format and has better sound amplifiers than any other media player in the world. However, despite these kickass features, it’s not always set to default. When you install it, you get the option to do this, but these preferences can easily revert. Window’s media player can do this by prompting you to set it to default instead of VLC every time it is opened. Whatever the case, in this tutorial, we will show you how to make the latest version of VLC your default media player in Windows, Android, Mac, every platform.
Setting VLC as the Default Player (Windows)
1. Open VLC.
- VLC media player requires Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later. It runs on any Mac with a 64-bit Intel processor or an Apple Silicon chip. Previous devices are supported by older releases. Note that the first generation of Intel-based Macs equipped with Core Solo or Core Duo processors is no longer supported.
- As already mentionned above, this VLC is especially conceived for Macs. Its main function is to play audio and video files of several formats. In other words, this player supports almost all popular formats including MP3, OGG, AVI, WMV and MOV as well as DVD and VCD formats. VLC for Mac offers further experience in playing multimedia files.
I want VLC to display media in its full window, By this i DON'T mean in full screen but in the reduced screen (splash?), what keeps happening is that depending on the media type and default resolution, the player re-sizes the clip, I just want the player to use the (FULL-window) available, even when a new media source is loaded, in a playlist.
